Duck Stuff: Friday Edition

The softball team edged BYU yesterday 1-0.

UP NEXT: No. 3 Oregon meets No. 21 Arizona State for a three-game Pac-12 series starting tomorrow at Jane Sanders Stadium.

■ John Canzano hopes the Ducks aren't mesmerized by getting to the Final Four and playing at the University Phoenix Stadium.

■ Oregon edged Portland yesterday 1-0 behind 5 different pitchers who only allowed 3 hits.

On Deck: Oregon continues its road trip in Salt Lake City where the Ducks will play a three-game Pac-12 Conference series against Utah starting on Thursday. David Peterson (5-1) will get the start for the Ducks, while Josh Lapiana (1-3) takes the mound for Utah at 6 p.m. (PT). All three Utah games will be broadcast on the Pac-12 Network.

Duck Stuff: Tuesday Edition

The men's basketball team heads for Phoenix tomorrow to take on North Carolina on Saturday at 5:50 pm local time.

■ Dillon Brooks was named to the John R. Wooden Award All-American Team on Monday.

The baseball team will take on Portland later today and then head to Utah for a 3 game series with the Utes plus a game next Monday against BYU.

■ Oregon fell short of a series sweep vs the dawgs 12-3 at PK Park yesterday.

On Deck: Oregon (15-6, 4-2) will play at Portland on Tuesday at 6 p.m. before hitting the road for a conference series against Utah starting Thursday at 6 p.m. live on Pac-12 Network.

■ The softball team defeated Utah 12-3 and again in the second game 3-0 yesterday in Salt Lake City.

■ Oregon beat Rhode Island 75-72 thanks to the clutch three pointer by Tyler Dorsey in the last few seconds of the game to make the Sweet Sixteen.

■ The baseball team dropped the series finale against Cal 4-1.

On Deck: Oregon will return home to take on the Washington Huskies in a three-game conference series starting Friday at 7 p.m. at PK Park.

■ The softball team run-ruled Cal 10-2 for the sweep and remain perfect.

The softball team edged past Cal 2-1 yesterday to remain perfect at 26-0 for the series win.

■ The baseball team beat Cal 7-1 to open Pac-12 play behind another strong outing from David Peterson.

■ Duck softball also opened Pac-12 play and beat Cal 5-1 to remain a perfect 25-0 for the season.

Oregon will open play going against Iona on Friday in the NCAA Tournament.

The Pac-12 regular-season co-champion Oregon men will open the NCAA Tournament as the No. 3 seed in the Midwest Region on Friday, against 14th-seeded Iona in Sacramento, Calif.

■ Softball team improved to 24-0 after run-ruling Hofstra 12-1 yesterday to conclude the Oregon Invitational.

Up Next: The Ducks will face Cal on Friday at 6 p.m. PT to kick off a three-game Pac-12 series. Wednesday's games against Portland State will be postponed to a later date.

■ Oregon completed the series sweep beating Santa Clara 3-0 yesterday at PK Park.

On Deck: Oregon (11-4) opens conference play with a three game series at California starting Friday night at 7 p.m.

■ Oregon lost to Arizona 83-80 in Pac-12 title game after losing Chris Boucher to a season ending injury on Friday and will now wait for the NCAA Tournament show to see how the seeding shakes out.

Up Next: The Ducks planned to return home to Eugene overnight Saturday, and reassemble Sunday afternoon in Matthew Knight Arena to learn their NCAA Tournament seeding and matchups.

■ Oregon beat Santa Clara 10-0 at PK Park to give George Horton his 300th victory at Oregon.

On Deck: Oregon (10-4) and Santa Clara (3-11) will play the series finale tomorrow afternoon at 12 p.m. at PK Park. Cole Stringer will be on the mound for the Ducks.

■ The softball team run-ruled Idaho St. 9-0 and Pacific 8-0 yesterday to remain perfect for the season at 23-0.

Oregon beat Cal 75-63 to advance to the Pac-12 Championship game against Arizona at 8:00 pm on ESPN.

■ David Peterson fanned 14 batters as Oregon beat Santa Clara 2-1 at PK Park.

On Deck: Oregon (9-4) and Santa Clara will play game three of the series tomorrow afternoon at 2 p.m. at PK Park with Matt Mercer getting the ball for the Ducks and Grant Nechak scheduled to start for the Broncos.

■ The softball team won a double header yesterday run-ruling Hostra 16-0 and then beating Idaho St. 9-3.

Up Next: Oregon plays another doubleheader today as part of the Oregon Invitational.

Kyle Kasser's walk-off single in the 11th inning gave Oregon a 6-5 win over Mississippi State yesterday and clinched the weekend series win at PK Park.

On Deck: Oregon will play a single game against UC Davis at PK Park tonight with first pitch scheduled for 6 p.m.

■ The softball team remains undefeated (19-0) with a 8-2 win against Stephen F. Austin yesterday.

■ The baseball team lost to Mississippi St. 5-4 yesterday.

On Deck: The Ducks and Bulldogs will finish the series today at 12 p.m with Cole Stringer scheduled to pitch for Oregon.

■ The softball team run-ruled Butler 8-0 to remain undefeated for the year at 18-0 which ties the school record.

■ David Peterson dominated Mississippi State on Friday night striking out a career-high 17 in a 1-0 non-conference win at PK Park.

On Deck: The Ducks and Bulldogs will play game two of the series today at 2 p.m. with Matt Mercer getting the ball for Oregon and Peyton Plumlee scheduled to start for Mississippi State.
