Duck Stuff: Wednesday Edition

The baseball game (Civil War) was cancelled yesterday due to rain.

On Deck: The Ducks return home to host Arizona State in a three-game Pac-12 Conference series. Game one is Friday at 6 p.m. at PK Park. David Peterson (8-2, 2.20) gets the start for the Ducks.

Oregon baseball took another hit yesterday losing to Stanford 10-4 at PK Park.

Up Next: The Ducks play a nonconference game at Oregon State on Tuesday (5:30 p.m., Pac-12 Network).

The softball team turned things around beating Arizona 4-3 yesterday.

On Deck: The Ducks and Cardinal will play game two of the series today at 2 p.m. at PK Park with Matt Mercer (5-2, 2.47) going for Oregon and Andrew Summervile (5-1, 2.67) on the mound for Stanford.

■ The softball team lost to Arizona 2-1 in Tuscon.

■ David Peterson had another strong outing as #22 Oregon beat #7 Arizona 8-4.

On Deck: The Ducks and Wildcats play game two of their series on Friday at 7 p.m. at Hi Corbett Field. The Ducks will send Matt Mercer (5-1, 2.15) to the mound.

■ Oregon softball dropped the opener vs UW 4-2 yesterday at Jane Sanders Stadium.

■ Oregon completed the sweep against UC Irvine with a 7-2 win at PK Park yesterday.

On Deck: Oregon will host the Portland Pilots on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at PK Park with Cole Stringer scheduled to start for the Ducks. The game will be televised live on Pac-12 Network.

The softball team avoided the sweep against UCLA as the dormant bats came alive in a 11-4 win yesterday.

David Peterson has been named the National Pitcher of the Month for March by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA), while also earning midseason All-America honors from Perfect Game.

■ Rob Moseley has your first spring practice report for the year plus interviews.

The freshman who jumped out the most to me was Graham. He jumped a route in one-on-one drills for an interception, and had another in team drills when Wilson scrambled away from pressure coming from his left and rolled out against the grain to the right, then threw a pass that Graham picked off.

Andrew Greif also has a practice report now that reporters are allowed for on the field for 15 minutes of each spring practice. Troy Dye also talked with the press.

■ The softball team swept two games against Portland yesterday 3-1 and 8-0. They have matched a NCAA record for the best start to a season at 35-0.

Duck Stuff: Tuesday Edition

■ The baseball team wrapped up their 5 game road trip with a 9-6 win over BYU yesterday.

On Deck: The Ducks return to Eugene for a four-game homestand, which begins with three nonconference games against UC Irvine. Oregon hosts the Anteaters beginning Friday (6 p.m., Oregon Live Stream) and again Saturday and Sunday, before welcoming Portland to PK Park on Tuesday (6 p.m., Pac-12 Network).

■ Three football practices will be open to the public beginning this Friday.

This Friday's workout is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m., with Saturday slated to start at 2:30 p.m. The April 15 practice in Portland will run from 2:30-4 p.m., with parking available in the Cronin Field's East Lot at the intersection of S.W. Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway and S.W. White Pine Lane.

■ The baseball team dropped the series against Utah 13-1.

On Deck: The Ducks wrap up their five-game road swing on Monday with a game at BYU. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. and the game will be televised on BYUtv (DirecTV channel 374; Dish channel 9403).

The softball team continued their incredible winning streak yesterday as the Ducks walked off in the eighth inning to defeat Arizona State, 1-0.

Magic ends as Oregon lost a heart-breaker to North Carolina 77-76.

The Ducks (33-6) saw their season end a game short of the national championship game, after setting a school record for wins, sharing the Pac-12's regular-season title and reaching the Final Four for the second time in school history.

■ The softball team improved to 32-0 beating ASU 8-4.

■ The baseball team dropped game 2 with Utah 11-5.

On Deck: The Ducks and Utes play game three at 12 p.m. (PT) on today. Zack Noll will pitch for Oregon, while Josh Lapiana will take the mound for Utah.
