■ Tyson Alger has position battle to watch: the linebackers.

Andrew Nemec says one of the top kickers in the country committed to the Ducks recently and Dale Newton also talks has an opinion.

Nemec: "When I visited in June I just had a great relationship with the coaching staff and it felt like the right fit for me walking around campus," he said. "I could really see myself fitting in and being successful at Oregon."

■ Former Oregon infielder Ryan Healy is making a name for himself in minor league baseball.

...After hitting .320 with six home runs and 30 RBI in 46 games with Nashville, Healy will celebrate his success with the best young prospects in baseball as he suits up for the U.S. squad in the SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game on Sunday, July 10, at San Diego's Petco Park at 4 p.m. PT on MLB Network.
