Duck Stuff: Wednesday Edition

■ Ken Goe says Mark Helfrich's hiring of David Yost as the QB's coach is a smart move.

He is a choice from outside the program, and will bring in a fresh perspective and some new ideas. In my view, the UO program is in need of both.

Rob Moseley has a 2015 season review of the running backs.

Andrew Greif says seven football recruits are enrolled in classes getting a headstart.

■ ESPN has Oregon #18 in their way too early preseason poll for the 2016 football season.

■ Oregon baseball is ranked 14th in the preseason poll by D1Baseball and Mitch Karraker will be the new Ducks’ pitching coach.

“Mitch will be a great addition to our staff,” Horton said. “He has proven himself over the last seven seasons and I’m excited to see him take the next step. His dedication and hard work have been assets to our program and I expect him to excel in his new role.”

Hopefully the baseball team with head north this year instead of south...last year we had some tough losses to swallow!
