Duck Stuff: Saturday Edition

Rob Moseley has your Friday practice report.

Scrimmage highlights: After Morgan Mahalak and the offense shined the last couple weeks, today’s 10-minute scrimmage for the scouts was primarily controlled by the defense. A sack on second down contributed to a three-and-out to open the period. … On the next drive, Drayton Carlberg stopped a run play for a short gain and got in on a sack on back-to-back plays, and Malik Lovette pushed a receiver out of bounds short of the sticks on third-and-long...

■ Ken Goe has three keys if Oregon is going to upset Stanford.

My prediction: Oregon 45 - Stanford 42

Dale Newton previews the game later today.

Oregon’s offensive line had its best game last week. They ran on the Cal Bears for 477 yards. If they can push the pile for half that many against Stanford it would be huge. The Ducks need to get Royce Freeman some running room. They need second and five. And they need Vernon Adams to be loose, improvisational, creative and resourceful without making bad decisions with the football. Possessions are precious against Stanford, which leads the league in time of possession at over 35 minutes a game. The Ducks simply can’t waste them.

GO DUCKS!
