Scout-team scrimmage highlights: Morgan Mahalak started well, completing 4-of-5 passes with the only incompletion a drop. He also ran for two decent gains on option keepers. Nothing eye-popping, but a very efficient period for him...

■ Andrew Greif talks about the risk-reward of scheduling home and home matchups like MSU and Oregon did then has game information for today.

■ Kevin Gemmell says Bralon Addison is happy to get his first game back under his belt before playing MSU today.

■ Joel Odom is taking predictions for today's contest with MSU and the "Oregon wins a close one" have the majority of the votes. ( I also think it will be close....Ducks 38 - Sparty 35...

■ Dale Newton wonders if Vernon Adams and the defense will the ready for the game today.

...Kudos to both Oregon and Michigan State for scheduling a high-profile game like this and not backing out of it. A matchup like this not only excites fans, it energizes preparation for both schools throughout the off-season...
