Duck Stuff: Monday Edition

Rob Moseley and Andrew Greif talk about Mark Helfrich's weekly teleconference yesterday.

“There’s not wholesale changes necessary, and we’re not going to go away from what we do,” UO coach Mark Helfrich said Sunday. “If you’re in this sport long enough, last night happens. How we react to that is under our control. … When things aren't going great everybody wants to point the finger, but we are definitely an outfit that is going to keep that internal and make the adjustments and go."

Oregon fell out of the AP top twenty five after losing to Utah.

Five things were learned about the loss.

Duck Stuff: Sunday Edition

■ We got steamrolled and that's to put it mildly. I could go on with the adjectives but I'll just let it be what it was, an ass-kicking. Oregon 20 - Utah 62. Going to a long season fans. Here are the stories.

Duck Stuff: Monday Edition

The Ducks fell six spots to #13 in the latest AP poll and dropped to #2 in the Pac-12 power rankings after to losing to MSU.

ESPN: Give the Ducks credit for going on the road against the No. 5 team in the country and being in position to win on their final possession. They’ll stay nationally relevant and probably earned some measure of respect. I thought long and hard about keeping them at No. 1, but their loss wasn’t without self-inflicted mistakes -- hence the one-position drop. But their narrow loss at Michigan State gives their 1-1 record plenty of credibility.

Mark Helfrich talked to the media last night about the MSU loss and fixing the little things. Podcast is here.

■ Caleb Couturie says not to worry Duck fans, you just have to take it in stride.

Marcus Mariota had a record setting day in his debut for the Titans.

Dale Newton also says there is no reason to push the panic button.

If this team continues to improve and believe in one another, it can still be a very good season. We knew Michigan State would be a tough test going in. There’s no reason to panic or call for anyone’s job.

Nike released this amazing recreation mashup video from the iconic movie shot in and around Eugene, "Animal House." Sure to be used between the third and fourth quarters at Autzen for years to come.

Lee Corso came through again for the Ducks at College Game Day this morning.

Here is a look at the uniforms the Ducks will be wearing later today. Not a huge fan of that Duck, much prefer the wings or just the O.

Duck Stuff: Monday Edition

Mark Helfrich talks about improvements needed, on both sides of the ball, as the team now focuses on Michigan St,

“A bunch of little things turned into big things – we had a defensive lineman spin out of a gap and create a huge hole; that’s not a DB’s fault. It’s everybody focusing on their job, no more, no less.”

Andrew Greif also shared some of the Helfrich talking points from his press conference.

■ John Canzano talks about the win against Eastern Washington on Saturday.

■ David Miller wonders in the fans expectations are unreasonable, unrealistic or the new normal.
