Duck Stuff: Saturday Edition

■ ESPN projects DeForest Buckner as the fourth best player in the Pac-12 this year.

Buckner has been projected by many as a top-10 NFL draft pick and is poised to be one of the most dominant defensive players in the country. When you look at the Pac-12’s list of leading tacklers last season, you see a lot of linebackers and a few safeties, but not a lot of defensive linemen. With 81 stops last year, Buckner was one of the most active front men in the league. He should improve on his four sacks from last season and 13 tackles for loss.

Andrew Greif talks about Royce Freeman and the expectations of becoming a more vocal leader this year.

Oregon will host Montana at Autzen Stadium in 2019.

■ Tyler Timm picks the three biggest position battles (other than QB) going into fall camp.

■ Dale Newton chooses the most Mariota-like qualities our new QB will need.

■ Max Thornberry believes the Ducks baseball team is built for a championship run this next season.

The summer months have dragged on long enough for college sports fans, but our patience will soon pay off. When you are screaming “O” in Autzen, just don’t forget about the field across the parking lot. PK Park is preparing to bring home a championship of its own sooner than anyone thinks.
