Duck Stuff: Friday Edition

■ Chantel Jennings looks at the Pac-12 post-spring DB's (#2) and Jamie Newberg ranks the Pac-12 QB's (#6).

JenningsSafeties Reggie Daniels and Tyree Robinson as well as cornerback Chris Seisay have plenty of starting/playing experience to give this group a tremendous baseline from which to start. The other cornerback spot could be possible two-way player Charles Nelson, Arrion Springs or Ugo Amadi. As long as this group stays healthy it is a very strong group, but if anyone gets hurt, this group could drop into a lower tier.

■ Dale Newton says Matt Hegarty transferring to Oregon will certainly add depth to the OL.

■ Forrest Welk introduces us to a new member of the football team, Justin Hollins.

UCLA beat the Ducks 7-1 to open WCWS play.

Oregon (51-7) will need to win two elimination games Saturday, then two more Sunday to reach the three-game championship series that starts Monday.

■ Rob Moseley reports the baseball team is eager to build on their hot finish as the Regionals open today.

As the Ducks headed off to begin play at the Springfield (Mo.) Regional on Friday against Iowa at 11 a.m. PT, they felt poised to make an extended run. "I don't think any team in the country is as ready as we are," said Friday's starter for the Ducks against the Hawkeyes, Cole Irvin. "Because we've been doing it for five weeks."
