Duck Stuff

Yesterday it was the offensive three-headed monster and today it's the same for the Oregon defense.

1. Oregon: LB Joe Walker, DL DeForest Buckner, CB Chris Seisay

The skinny: The Ducks did lose defensive firepower, but they've also retained some of their big guns. Buckner is a future NFL talent who led the team with 13 tackles for loss (four sacks) last year, while Walker's 49 solo tackles were the most from the linebacking corps. The biggest production vacuum comes in the secondary, where Erick Dargan's conference-best seven interceptions have vanished. Seisay filled in for Ifo Ekpre-Olomu late, so he has big shoes to fill.

■ Joey Holland says there is reason to believe that whoever starts for QB they have a winning track record behind them so not to worry.

■ Oregon cruised past UC Riverside 12-3 yesterday to complete the sweep behind a strong performance from Josh Graham.

On deck: Oregon continues its five game road trip Friday at Arizona where the Ducks will play the first of three, all of which will be televised on the Pac-12 Networks. Game times are 7 p.m. Friday, 7 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. on Sunday. Oregon will send Conor Harber to the mound Friday.

We needed that sweep, and on the road no less. Cool.
