Duck Stuff: Morning Mud

Morning Mud
Rob Moseley has your latest practice report.

The UO football team held its final practice of this historic 2014-15 football season in Eugene on Friday morning, before beginning the trip to Texas for Monday’s College Football Playoff National Championship.

For the record, the final practice rep of the year was a long “touchdown” pass from Jeff Lockie to Charles Nelson. The Ducks then huddled for final words from head coach Mark Helfrich, hit the cold pools for some recovery and prepared to head to the airport.

■ More position group comparisons from Andrew Greif, Tyson Alger, Joseph Hoyt and Hayden Kim who also says Thomas Tyner will be a key element of the game on Monday.

Turnovers will be a critical part of a winning recipe on Monday for the Ducks.

Darren Carrington didn't make the trip to Texas after being suspended for the game on Monday. Who steps up now?

ESPN's Chris Fowler talked about the Ducks rise in prominence recently with the Register Guard.

■ Ugo Amadi, a 4-star CB recruit committed to the Ducks yesterday and will enroll in the spring.

■ Dale Newton looks at what is most needed to win it all on Monday.
