Duck Stuff: Morning Mud

Morning Mud
Rob Moseley has your Thursday practice report.

Scout-team scrimmage highlights: ...Grant Thompson had a couple tackles for loss and nearly had an interception after dropping into coverage. He was Scooby Wright III of Arizona on the scout team this week. … Ty Griffin continues to impress. He had a couple of nice throws on the run, to B.J. Kelley and Chris Tewhill. … J.J. Jones had a nice run on which Evan Voeller pancaked an outside linebacker and then Jones made a cut to elude an inside linebacker.

■ Chantel Jennings says the Oregon defense is eager to show they have improved, especially against Arizona and then looks at the effect of Marcus Mariota's calm demeanor.

■ Lots of good numbers for the Ducks in this Pac-12 stat tracker.

The ESPN Pac-12 bloggers are almost unanimous in predicting a victory for Oregon later today.

■ Randy Morse has three things to watch for in the game today and Rory Davidson has an analysis of the Wildcats over at FishDuck.

■ Dale Newton believes the Ducks should use Royce Freeman to their advantage and then wonders how improved is our defense.

Wade Evanson looks at one forgotten component in today's game against Arizona. (good read)
