Duck Stuff: Morning Mud

Morning Mud
Rob Moseley has your Tuesday practice report and has the Stanford game notes.

Highlights: The tempo drill to start the morning also featured the No. 1 offense getting off to a fast start – though Troy Hill ultimately broke up a pass in the end zone – and then the No. 2 defense swarming the twos on offense, with Mattingly, Torrodney Prevot and Tui Talia pressuring Lockie. … The kickoff return group’s first two reps resulted in long returns for Charles Nelson and Johnathan Loyd. … Buckner and Arik Armstead had tackles for loss during one team period, and teamed up during the next one when Armstead did the dirty work of forcing a runner to cut back inside, where Buckner lowered the boom...

■ Chantel Jennings talks about Royce Freeman and his bid to be the best freshman running back in the country.

■ David Lombardi discusses Oregon and their issues recently against Stanford.

■ John Canzano talked with former Oregon defensive coordinator Nick Aliotti recently regarding our defense and shares his thoughts on Oregon's #5 initial ranking by the college football playoff committee.

■ Charles Fisher takes a closer look at true freshman Charles Nelson.

Dale Newton previews Stanford, says it's time the Ducks lit up Stanford and believes the Oregon needs to go 'full Mariota' on Stanford.

Number 5 isn't bad, especially given the top 4s remaining schedules. Word. We and in...it's always been that way for Oregon...we just have to win.
