Duck Stuff: Morning Mud

Morning Mud
Rob Moseley has your Monday practice report and has game notes for Friday.

Highlights: There was some great action when the travel squad went head-to-head early in practice. Freeman had a couple long runs, one of them keyed by a loud block by Nelson on a linebacker. Danny Mattingly answered for the defense, containing Marcus Mariota on one play and then bringing down a runner in the backfield on the very next play. … Marshall did a nice job of reaching behind himself and hauling in a pass during 11-on-11. On the defensive field that period, Juwaan Williams had one of the day’s biggest hits...

Andrew Greif has a sneak peek at the Cal Bears.

■ The biggest challenge for Oregon on Friday will be trying to defend Cal QB Jared Goff according to this report.

■ Tyson Alger and crew hand out mid-season awards for Oregon and Marcus Mariota takes the MVP honor.

Mariota also picked up national offensive player of the week yesterday by the Senior Bowl.

Coaches are wondering if they can clone Marcus Mariota.

■ It might not be too long before we see Andre Yruretagoyena back on the O-line.

■ Derrick Malone shares his latest installment of "life as a linebacker."

■ The game against Stanford on Nov.1 has been scheduled for 4:30 pm and will be televised on Fox.
