Duck Stuff: Morning Mud

Morning Mud
Rob Moseley has your Tuesday practice report.

On one of the final snaps of the day, DeForest Buckner tipped a pass at the line, pulled it down and rumbled for the pick-six. That capped about as dominant a day as I can remember from a guy in practice. He killed it in 1-on-1 pass drills and really made life tough for the scout-team offensive line in all the team periods. The scout QBs were constantly having to throw on the run when Buckner was on the field. … Alex Balducci, coincidentally, also pulled down a tipped pass for an interception during the last team period...

Marcus Mariota will be on the cover of this weeks Sports Illustrated.

Speaking of Marcus, he remains at the top of the Pac-12 QB ranking.

■ Tyson Alger says the Oregon running back need to break that last barrier as the season gets to conference play.

■ Oregon plans to mix and match defenses to keep Connor Halliday honest. has everything you need to know about the WSU game.

Andrew Greif has five thoughts on the depth chart as we head to Pullman.

The Pac-12 released the football schedule for next year. One word, brutal.

■ Charles Fisher says Byron Marshall loves the new slot-sweep read.
