Duck Stuff: Morning Mud

Morning Mud
■ The Oregon football team feels one of their most gratifying off-season benefits is mentoring young children. Comment below is from Marcus Mariota.

"Helping these kids and mentoring has allowed me to grow up in that sense and find my comfort level teaching, really, I feel like I've come a long way."

The Michigan St. vs Oregon game on Sept. 6 will cost you a pretty penny if you're so inclined.

■ The Sporting News has named Marcus Mariota, Hronis Graus and Ifo Ekpre-Olumu to its preseason All-American first team.

■ The ESPN Pac-12 bloggers share their ideas on making the Pac-12 better.

■ Joe Daniel shares his thoughts on this years showdown with Arizona.

■ Matt Takimoto @ATQ says your vote counts and wants your help in determining the top 20 Ducks for the last 20 years.

■ George Horton (according to Tyson Alger) will be keeping a close eye on the MLB draft which begins tomorrow.

A year ago, six Ducks were deemed worthy enough of selections as Ryon Healy  (3rd round/Oakland), Jimmie Sherfy (10th/Arizona), Cole Wiper (10th/Texas), J.J. Altobelli (18th/St. Louis), Christian Jones (18th/San Fran) and Brett Thomas (21st/Seattle) became the second biggest Oregon draft class in school history.

This season, Oregon coach George Horton is projecting another pillaging.

GO DUCKS!
