On the scoreboard, the squad captained by Marcus Mariota and Hroniss Grasu — dubbed "Mariasu" — topped the "Twifo" team led by Ifo Ekpre-Olomu and Tony Washington, 27-7. Mariota, who spurned the NFL to return to school this year, was the star of the day despite just one quarter of work, but he also had a strong supporting cast, including at those positions where Oregon is looking for answers entering the summer.
■ Spring Game stories also come from Justin Wise who likes talks about Marcus Mariota, and says Devon Allen shined; Tyson Alger also talks about Devon Allen and gives you three defensive standouts; Andrew Greif gives you three offensive standouts and Chantel Jennings gives her opinion on what we learned during the game. Taylor Wilder, Dominic Allen, and Ryan Kang share their photos from the game.
■ Offensive lineman Shane Lemieux of Yakima, WA committed after the game yesterday giving Oregon its fourth commitment for 2015.
■ I will have a Spring Game highlight video posted on YouTube later today so stay tuned.
■ Austin Grebeck's walk-off single in the 10th gave Oregon a 7-6 win over Arizona after the top of the UO lineup keyed a four-run seventh inning.
"It was a great one — probably on the short list of as good a comeback as we've had late in the ballgame," Horton said.
The series finale is Sunday at PK Park (4 p.m. PT, Pac-12 Networks).
