Duck Stuff: Morning Mud

Morning Mud
■ Walk-ons Kenny Bassett and Grant Thompson were awarded scholarships by Mark Helfrich yesterday.

"It's very exciting to acknowledge and reward the hard work and dedication that these two young men have demonstrated on and off the field," Helfrich said.

■ Andrew Greif reviews the special team unit now that spring practice has concluded.

■ Chantel Jennings lists the five standouts from the football spring practices.

■ Oregon softball coach Mike White says a new stadium for the team is long overdue and Rob Moseley says it is a chance for redemption at the Super Regional.

■ The baseball team ran into a brick wall losing to Cal 6-0 yesterday.

The Ducks (42-17, 18-11 Pac-12) and Cal will play their regular-season finale Saturday at 7 p.m. Regional host sites will be announced Sunday evening, and the full NCAA field will be unveiled Monday.
