Duck Stuff: Morning Mud

Morning Mud
■ Andrew Greif reports the new NCAA rule won't change how Oregon spend its summers.

There is nothing voluntary about new NCAA rules that permit college football coaches more control over the summer workouts of their players, but Oregon coach Mark Helfrich doesn't want the change to make football at UO "a year-round thing."

■ Ashley Young says Johnny Mundt is in a close race to secure the tight end position.

■ Oregon squandered another brilliant start by Jeff Gold as they lost 4-2 at osu.

Gold kept the Beavers beav trash off balance on a rainy and cold night allowing just four hits while striking out five and walking two. The senior allowed just two runners to reach second base before being pulled after seven innings with a 1-0 lead.

The three game series wraps up today at 1:00pm. George Horton talked to the media shortly after the game.

GO DUCKS!
