Duck Stuff: Morning Mud
■ John Canzano talks about Mariota and Grasu deciding to stay for another year and the vote of confidence for Mark Helfrich.
■ Chip Kelly also said that Marcus Mariota made a good decision.
■ Andrew Greif compares stats for the season against previous campaigns and calls out a decline in the defense.
■ Dale Newton and Matt Daddy also reflect on the decline of the defense this year.
■ Jason Quick takes a closer look at Hroniss Grasu's decision to stay another year.
Grasu said he will also take it upon himself to improve the play of the offensive line, starting with himself. Even though he was chosen as the conference’s best center for the second consecutive year, he says he could have had a better season. He doesn’t like the perception that Oregon isn’t physical enough up front, and that it gets pushed around by the bigger teams.
“We are hungry,’’ Grasu said. “We need to prove our doubters wrong. Our offensive line will be a physical offensive line, yet still be able to move around. It starts with me. I want to get better and I have a lot to do. There’s a lot of work ahead."
