Duck Stuff: Morning Mud

Morning Mud
Andrew Greif was in attendance for a short window of open practice yesterday at a local high school.

Media were invited to watch the first 10 minutes of the practice, held at a local high school, and in the time the Ducks held two, five-minute periods, with quarterbacks throwing to receivers at one end, defenders practicing stripping the ball for fumbles at the other, and UO’s customary blaring soundtrack playing over it all.

■ Beth Maiman and Victor Flores also attended and add some additional thoughts and a short video clip.

■ Michael Arellano, Ryan Kang and GoDucks.com shot some practice photos yesterday.

Dale Newton believes winning the game against Texas begins by not losing bowl week. Dale also compares Texas and Oregon on paper to try and figure out who will win the game.

■ Andrew Greif compares bowl week preparations between Chip Kelly and Mark Helfrich and can't find many differences.

■ Brian Jackson got to meet a childhood friend on Wednesday after a two year separation.

■ Nine members of the team visited Brooke Army Medical Center's Center for the Intrepid yesterday to pay tribute to some wounded warriors.

"For them to see somebody like this group come in, it's uplifting for them," Mark Phillips said.

Turns out, though, he could have just as easily been talking about the players, too.

GO DUCKS!
