Duck Stuff: Morning Mud

Morning Mud
■ Rob Moseley reminds us it's the calm before the postseason storm.

The Oregon football team isn't scheduled to practice this week. Coaches hit the road for recruiting Sunday, two days after the Ducks wrapped up a 10-2 regular season with a dramatic, 36-35 win in the Civil War.

The next practices are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, a weekend that also will feature a storm of results from around the nation that will affect Oregon's bowl destination.

■ Kevin Gemmell talks about the Pac-12 rivalry games this past weekend.

Oregon rose one spot to #12 in the latest BCS standings.

Nathan Roholt wonders if Mark Helfrich is establishing a new identity for the Ducks?

■ Dale Newton goes inside the highlight tape and likes the gutty effort and the fierce loyalty the Ducks showed for each other during the Civil War.

As for the bowls, the key for the Ducks now is to embrace whatever matchup they get, and treat it as a chance to improve and compete. They showed a lot of heart and resilience in coming back to win the Civil War on a night they were beaten and tested. They played for each other and never quit.

GO DUCKS!

We need as many positive spins as we can get.
