Duck Stuff: Morning Mud

Morning Mud
Rob Moseley has your Saturday practice report.

Highlights: With the Ducks rotating ones, twos and threes in and out very quickly, some mismatches developed throughout the day. During one 11-on-11 period, Marcus Mariota burned the No. 3 defense deep twice, on balls to Keanon Lowe and Eric Dungy. … The threes weren’t totally overmatched, though, with Oshay Dunmore stopping a run play behind the line of scrimmage. …

During another 11-on-11 period later in the day, Arik Armstead had a tackle for loss, and Taylor Alie connected with Dwayne Stanford down the sideline despite blanket coverage by Chris Seisay. … Stanford hauled in a deep ball from Jeff Lockie during seven-on. … Avery Patterson and Joe Walker had nice pass breakups over the course of the morning.

■ Ryan Kostecka tells you all you need to know about the Texas Longhorns.

■ Embattled Texas coach Mack Brown officially resigned yesterday stating the game against Oregon will be his last as head coach.

■ Jason Quick believes Texas will focus on their running game against Oregon.

■ Victor Flores has a short Q&A session with Byron Marshall.

■ Junior CB Ifo Ekpre-Olumu says his decision of entering the NFL draft is coming soon.

“(The [NFL] evaluation) is definitely going to play a part in it, but I still think it is going to come down to if I'm really ready to leave college,’’ Ekpre-Olomu said. “You always have to fall back to your education.’’

Ekpre-Olomu said he is on track to graduate next fall with a degree in General Social Science with an influence in business.
