Duck Stuff: Morning Mud

Morning Mud
Joseph Hoyt believes 2013 was just a bump in the road, not the end of an era.

Instead of ridiculing a first-year head coach and a group of talented student athletes for faltering twice in a 12-game season, maybe fans should take a step back and look at the progress this program has made in the past five years. In a five-year stretch, losses happen, and expecting perfection from a team year in and year out is expecting the impossible.

■ Mark Helfrich and Mack Brown held a press conference yesterday from the Alamo Bowl and has the details.

■ Sean Meagher sat down with former Oregon QB Darron Thomas for a short Q&A session. Thomas is back in Oregon as a QB for the AFL's Portland Thunder.

■ Ifo Ekpre-Olomu was named to the 124th edition of the Walter Camp Football Foundation second-team All-America squad.

Ekpre-Olomu follows return specialist Cliff Harris (2010), and running backs LaMichael James (2010, '11) and Kenjon Barner (2012), as Oregon's most recent Walter Camp All-America recipients.

I'm afraid it's looking like Ifo is gone for next year...that's a hit, for sure.
