Duck Stuff: Morning Mud

Morning Mud
Rob Moseley has your Friday practice report.

During the scout-team scrimmage prior to “Fast Friday” this morning, the defensive line stood out most to me. T.J. Daniel continues to impress in his transition from tight end, and freshman Jason Sloan out of Salem also was in on a couple plays. Linebacker Brett Bafaro had an interception on a tipped pass. … The team wore its pink cleats again, continuing to break them in. All told, it looks to me there are about six or seven different models favored by various players.

Jason Quick takes a sneak peek at the game later today. and Bob Laws has a pre-game analysis.

■ Ken Goe wonders if the 2013 squad might be the best in school history.

■ Latin Berry returns home to receive a well deserved honor. He will be inducted into the Oregon Athletics Hall of Fame and will be honored at half time of the WSU game.

■ Even the NY Times is impressed with Marcus Mariota.

Bralon Addison, besides being a stud receiver, is also a fan of Breaking Bad.

■ Joey Harrington believes Marcus Mariota will become known as the greatest quarterback to ever play at Oregon. High praise indeed.

Dale Newton grades the team half way through the season.

■ Ted Miller wonders "did you know?"

Turnovers should be a big factor: Oregon has forced 16 turnovers (T-7th in FBS) and scored 73 points off TO (T-13th), while Washington State has committed 20 turnovers (2nd-most in FBS) and allowed 76 points off TO (7th-most).
