Duck Stuff: Morning Mud

Morning Mud
Rob Moseley has your Wednesday practice report.

The No. 2 defense also won its chance during the clutch drill, with the offense running out of time before getting into field-goal range. … Marcus Mariota was locked in during a red-zone drill, in which four of his first five passes went for touchdowns, to De'Anthony Thomas, Bralon Addison, Josh Huff and Byron Marshall. … Marshall had another receiving touchdown during the period in which Hamani Stevens threw a great open-field block, and Marshall ran for a score, too. … Lockie had scoring passes to Daryle Hawkins and Evan Baylis during the drill, and Thomas Tyner ran for a couple scores.

■ Andrew Greif notes that it has been a long time since Oregon traveled to the east coast, 1977 to be exact.

ESPN reports (video) that both Oregon and Virginia will face stiffer competition in week two but Oregon will come out on top.

■ Virginia's four man defensive front will be a new challenge for Oregon.

David Melo opens the history book to take a closer look at former Oregon TE Josh Wilcox.

Hayden Kim talks with Scott Frost on what to expect on Saturday.

“They’re a big team,” Frost said in reference to their defensive line. “It’s size that we didn't see last week, so it’s going to be a challenge for our guys. I think they got pretty good athleticism for their size, so I think traveling all the way across the country to play a team like that is going to be be a big challenge for us.”

GO DUCKS!
