Duck Stuff: Morning Mud

Morning Mud
Rob Moseley has your Thursday practice report.

Mark Helfrich called today Oregon's "best mental day of the year." He acknowledged a somewhat sloppy day earlier this week, but made it sound like the Ducks were definitely back on track by this morning. … Matt Wogan nailed a 33-yard field goal early in the day. Alejandro Maldonado has taken both of the Ducks' field-goal attempts through two games, but I wouldn't be shocked to see Wogan get a shot at some point. Would still figure to see Maldonado take the first attempt in a game. … Not the edgiest of predictions, but I gotta think Johnny Mundt finally gets his first career reception this week. He's played a ton of snaps the last two weeks but hasn't caught a pass yet.

Ryan Kostecka compares how Oregon and Tennessee stack up to each other.

Dale Newton also looks at the matchup with Tennessee.

■ Ken Goe has five questions for for a Knoxville reporter. You have your five ready Dave?

Ted Miller and Kevin Gemmell have both predicted an Oregon victory this Saturday.

Tom Osborne doubts we'll see many more dropped passes from Colt Lyerla.

■ Scott Heineman and Cole Irvin have made the list of summer league top prospects released by Baseball America today. Oregon baseball isn't too far away fans.

■ Will Thomas Tyner continue Oregon's running back legacy?

As many know, including Tyner himself, Oregon has had somewhat of a legacy at the running back position. Tyner said that he has drawn inspiration from past players and has even talked to some.

“After my first game, LaMichael (James) actually said congratulations to me and a bunch of other people … And I was like whoa, this is crazy and even Jonathan Stewart said something to me,” said Tyner after Monday’s practice. “It definitely motivates me having those caliber players telling me congrats.”

1) Can you take us through how you felt watching LaMichael carve out that unbelievable run in the last meeting?

2) From your perspective, do your uniforms look a little "bitchy?"

3) Why are you so racist?

4) If you had to guess which Oregon defender will end your quarterback's season with a mind-blowing hit, which defender do you think it would be?

5) Can you even spell Volunteer?
