Duck Stuff: Morning Mud

Morning Mud
■ Jackson Long tries to predict what kind of season is in store for Duck fans.

With a returning offense capable of ridiculous stats, expectations run high across the college football landscape for Oregon’s 2013 campaign.  New head coach Mark Helfrich and his team have set a high bar for themselves, and as is the natural tendency for sports fans everywhere, the Duck faithful also have soaring hopes for their team.

■ Jason Quick looks at the friendship that has grown between Marcus Mariota and Hroniss Grasu.

It’s difficult for either to pinpoint exactly when their relationship really started to  blossom, but it was sometime this summer, and somewhere between the greens of Eugene golf courses and the felt on the pool table at Grasu’s home.

“This relationship I’ve built with Hroniss is pretty special,’’ Mariota said. “It’s something that is going to last for the rest of my life.’’

Added Grasu: “We have become very close. We click very well.’’
