Duck Stuff: Morning Mud

Morning Mud
■ Jason Quick believes the Ducks' defensive line has what it takes to be remembered for a long time to come.

“I’m not going to anoint anybody the best this, or the best that, but if our guys play the way they are capable of playing, we will be very, very good up front,’’ [Nick] Aliotti said. “I don’t ever like to say that until it’s all over with, but you look at the guys ... all of them played for us last year and played well.’’

■ Andrew Greif talks about the the first day of daily doubles now that it's in the books.

■ Jackson Long shares his thoughts on Mark Helfrich's first season as head coach.

■ Dale Newton takes a look at the first week of fall camp.

Key veterans are already making plays, showing the leadership and ability the Ducks are counting on in a year expectations are unlimited. Ranked number three in the country in preseason polls like the USA Today/Coaches, part of the BCS formula, the team will also need some big contributions from a few newcomers to live up to their promise.
