Duck Stuff: Morning Mud

Marcus Mariota and Ifo-Ekpre Olumu talk about their summer and the Pac-12 Media Day experience.

Oregon was the unanimous choice to win the Pac-12 with the media at the Pac-12 Media Day event yesterday.

The Ducks were listed in the top spot in the North Division by 15 of the 26 voters participating in the poll, collecting 145 points.  Fourteen of those pollsters tabbed the Ducks to come out on top in the Pac-12 Championship Game.

The Oregonian has the transcript of Mark Helfrich's comments during his time at the Pac-12 Media Day podium.

Stanford head coach David Shaw thinks Marcus Mariota is the most complete QB in the nation.

Evidently Oregon doesn't need a depth chart.

Larry Scott says the Pac-12 is no closer to a deal with DirecTV and laid out new tackling rules. has already posted "what color to wear" at each game this year.

■ Aaron Fentress starts his "rising stars" for 2013 with a closer look at Alejandro Maldonado in the number ten spot.

All of the ups and downs should have toughened up Maldonado enough to allow him to flourish as a senior. With kicker Rob Beard now graduated, Maldonado is the lone veteran kicker in the locker room. He also punts and has the inside track on that job, as well.
