Duck Stuff: Morning mud

Ted Miller talks about his "hope and concerns" for Oregon this year.

■ Mitch Sherman liked what he saw of Oregon QB commit Morgan Mahalak at the Elite 11 camp.

"Mahalak recognized plays in a classroom setting Saturday faster than any other QB. And that’s a huge part of the quarterbacks’ training at this level."

Phil Steele likes Oregon to win the Pac-12 North this year.

Kevin Gemmell has Oregon at Colorado on the slate of week six Pac-12 ultimate road trips.

■ Cameron Pettus breaks down Oregon's secondary and how the Ducks create so many turnovers.

■ Cole Irvin has been named to the 2013 Baseball America Freshman All-America First-Team, the magazine announced yesterday.

"Irvin (Yorba Linda, Calif./Servite HS) set an Oregon record finishing with 12 wins while earning honorable mention all-conference recognition. He finished with a 12-3 record and a 2.48 ERA with four complete games."

Oregon having an elite recruit at quarterback just doesn't seem fair.
