Duck Stuff: Morning Mud

Morning Mud
Who will be the Pac-12 leader in passing in 2013? This poll suggests Marcus Mariota will be the best.

Mariota didn't throw for many yards per game last year -- 205.9 -- because he typically didn't need to pass much in the second half. This fall, the Ducks' running game is more questionable and the crew of receivers is deep. There's a sense that Mariota, who led the conference in passing efficiency in 2012, could throw a lot more this fall.

■ Two Oregon defenders make this Pac-12 list of the top interceptors, Erick Dargan and Ifo Ekpre-Olumu.

■ Ted Miller wonders if the Alamo Bowl upgrade will test the Pac-12 and Big 12.

Mark Flores has all the latest on recruiting efforts.

The Pac-12 seems to be a direct pipeline to the NFL for head coaches according to this report.'s Ivan Maisel looks at which conferences send head coaches to the NFL and makes a conclusion: "The shortest road for any FBS head coach to the NFL is through the Pac-12. In fact, no other conference even comes close."

The latest being Chip Kelly of course.

I'm really curious about what our passing game will look like...I think I disagree...we will be running the ball in space.
