Duck Stuff: Morning Mud

Morning Mud
Rob Moseley relays highlights from the Pac-12 coaches conference call which took place yesterday.

Helfrich was hit up on a couple of subjects in the news nationally. He said the Ducks aren't putting too much thought into a potential strength-of-schedule element for College Football Playoff qualification when they assemble future non-conference schedules, leaving that up to AD Rob Mullens.

Josh Schlichter at says goodbye which is too bad as he was one of the best writers they had but he does have one last story about Oregon's play calling system. Good luck Josh.

Sam Arney says don't worry about the Oregon defense after hearing some comment regarding the lack of defense during the spring game.

Aaron Fentress notes the Pac-12 coaches believe Oregon will remain successful under Mark Helfrich.

■ Mitchell Tolman was named the Pac-12 Player of the Week by the conference yesterday.

Tolman batted .474 (9-for-19) with a double, three walks and 14 RBI as Oregon won four of five games on the road last week, including a sweep of Washington State in Pullman. The Lake Forest, Calif. native hit safely and notched an RBI in each of the Ducks’ five games last week and registered multiple hits in three contests.

Player of week honors...yawn...that's a Duck every week! SNAP!

Loved the Jeter true that he has remained above the rest.
