Duck Stuff: Morning Mud

Morning Mud
Rob Moseley has a quick review of the receiving corps following the end of spring practice.

The Ducks will feel good entering the summer if: The robust numbers result in a healthy competition throughout the spring, benefiting everybody on the depth chart.

The Ducks will have reason to worry this summer if: An injury to Lyerla would be troubling, because the backup tight ends aren't quite as experienced as the reserve receivers.

The verdict: Mostly pretty good. Addison emerged as a potential star and B.J. Kelley looks like a more consistent contributor; necessary developments in light of Stanford's injury.

Here is a brief look at what is new with the Oregon football opponents for 2013.

■ Ryon Healy and Jimmie Sherfy have been named to the Golden Spikes watch list and Healy also emerges as a front runner for Pac-12 player of the year according to Adam Jude.

Healy, a two-time Pac-12 Player of the Week this season, is a new addition to the award’s watch list. He ranks in the top 52 in the nation in four separate categories – home runs, home runs per game, RBI and total bases.

Sherfy, who is a  right-hander, entered the week second in saves during the 2013 season with 14, while boasting a 2-0 record with a 0.90 ERA.

We've got some ballers. Was watching the Red Sox last night and thinking how fun it will be to see Oregon players in the Major Leagues, eventually. Word.
