Duck Stuff: Morning Mud
■ Ivan Maisel talks with Mark Helfrich about his first spring practice in charge as the head coach of Oregon.
■ The Saturday Edge has Oregon taking the Pac-12 by storm this year.
■ In case you didn't hear, Oregon did pretty good at the Pac-12 Track & Field Championships over the weekend and a couple of football players helped out.
■ Will Murphy impressed the Eagles enough during his tryout last weekend to earn himself a spot on the roster. Pretty cool considering he started as a walk-on at Oregon.
■ Another week and another Pac-12 Player of the Week for Oregon. This time pitcher Cole Irvin earned the earned for the second time this year.
Irvin tossed his second complete-game shutout of the season, scattering six hits and striking out seven batters in a 4-0 victory over Ohio State. The Yorba Linda, Calif. native issued one walk and allowed just one extra-base hit in the second game of a double-header in Columbus. It was the third complete game of the season for the talented freshman, whose 2.62 ERA ranks second on the team and 11th in the Conference. Irvin has pitched a team-high 92.0 innings with 47 strikeouts and 19 walks this season.
