Duck Stuff: Morning Mud

Morning Mud
Rob Moseley believes most questions about the starting rotation for the football come fall were left unanswered after the Spring Game.

Who will be Oregon's leading rusher in 2013? De'Anthony Thomas was supposedly the guy in practices, but didn't play Saturday due to some (apparently minor) injury. Byron Marshall looked quick at times, but coaches continue to say he needs to be more consistent. Does the success of Oregon's run game really hinge on an incoming freshman, Thomas Tyner, leading the way? Recent UO history suggests that even the highest rated running back recruits struggle as true freshmen.

■ Mark Flores has the latest in recruiting news and a QB is the third commit for the 2014 class.

Rob Moseley reviews the quarterback position now that spring practice has finished.

Freshman Mitchell Tolman went 3-for-4 with seven RBI to lead No. 11 Oregon to a 12-7 non-conference win over Seattle last night.

Adam Jude says the Pac-12 baseball title will come down to the Civil War series much as it has done the past couple of seasons.

Now, the No. 11 Ducks (33-10, 16-5 Pac-12) and the sixth-ranked Beavers beavtrash (34-8, 14-4) are in a virtual tie atop the Pac-12 standings after each swept another conference foe this past weekend. Oregon, led by Pac-12 player of the week Ryon Healy, had two walk-off victories in three nights against Stanford; and the Beavers beavtrash swept USC for the first time.

"On paper, it looks like our series with the Beavers beavtrash is going to be cool and fun and packed and everything you hope baseball in the Northwest is about," UO coach George Horton said.
