Duck Stuff: Morning Mud
• Having a hard time getting up on a dreary Wednesday morning? This should do the trick.
• Oregon swept the two game series with Cal St. Northridge winning 4-1 at PK Park yesterday.
Jeff Gold held the Matadors (5-8) to just one unearned run on six hits over seven innings. He struck out six while lowering his ERA to just 0.51. The junior from Moraga, Calif., has struck out 15 hitters in 17.2 innings this season, while walking just two. This little gem of a play by Gold deserves your attention.
• Mark Flores is back with some recruiting news.
• Brandon P. Oliver (ESPN$) believes you shouldn't get your hope up too much when it comes to recruiting some big names.
Every recruiting cycle there are dozens of names tossed around as recruits who could potentially wind up as Oregon Ducks. While the Ducks have become a high-profile program with a national brand, there are some targets who should still be looked as extreme long shots to wind up in Eugene.
