Duck Stuff: Morning Mud
The Ducks get a step closer to the Big Dance as KEZI reports on Oregon's upset win over St. Louis yesterday beating the Billikens 74-57 and then some raw footage of Oregon celebrating brought to you by GoDucksdotcom.
Damyean Dotson scored 23 points, Carlos Emory added 14 points and the hot-shooting Ducks sprinted past fourth-seeded Saint Louis 74-57 in the NCAA tournament Saturday night.
Dotson made his first five 3-pointers to carry Oregon (28-8) into the second weekend for the first time since 2007, when it lost to eventual repeat champion Florida in the regional final. The Ducks made 8 of 11 shots from beyond the arc, while the Billikens finished 3 for 21 from long range.
• Another strong pitching performance and some big hits led to another win for the baseball team as Oregon beat Arizona 5-1 yesterday.
Ryon Healy hit a three-run home run and four Oregon pitchers combined to hold Arizona to just one run for the second straight day as the No. 13 Ducks won 5-1 at PK Park on Saturday.
Healy broke open a tight game with a three-run line drive home run over the left field wall in the eighth inning scoring Brett Thomas and Aaron Payne. Healy’s homer, his fourth of the season, came off reliever Mathew Troupe with no outs. Thomas led off the inning with a single up the middle, moved to second on a wild pitch by starter James Farris (3-3), and advanced to third on an error on a sacrifice bunt by Payne.
Oregon (17-6, 4-1 Pac-12) clinched the three-game series with the three-run eighth. The Ducks will look for the series sweep Sunday at 12 p.m.
