Duck Stuff: Morning Mud

The Billikens have one nation's stingiest defenses now, allowing just 58.1 points per game. They've won a school-record 28 games, including 16 of their last 17. Their last loss was to Xavier in overtime on March 6.
Saint Louis has a balanced scoring attack, led by 6-foot-5 forward Dwayne Evans' 13.7 points per game and 7.7 rebounds per.
• Mark Helfrich said there will be some subtle changes to the practice format for the football team this year.
• Oregon beat Arizona 2-1 in the Pac-12 opener yesterday behind some strong pitching performances.
Jake Reed (3-3) allowed one run while scattering six hits over six innings to pick up the win. He struck out three, while walking three. Christian Jones and Jimmie Sherfy didn’t allow a hit over the final three innings to wrap up the win.
The Ducks and Wildcats meet in game two of the series today at 2 p.m. at PK Park. Tommy Thorpe (2-2, 3.72) is scheduled to pitch for UO, while James Farris (3-2, 3.82) is listed as the Arizona starter.
