Duck Stuff: Morning Mud

Morning Mud
Dale Newton believes character and intelligence are important qualities in an Oregon recruit.

Fill a roster full of young men who can think and adapt and lead as well as handle a football, and you develop a program with a very high ceiling. There will be some defections and surprises for Duck fans on Wednesday, but the core of this class has the same character and vision they've enjoyed rooting for in the last several years.

• Ted Werth takes a closer look at recent commit Juwaan Williams.

• Running back Kani Benoit out of Phoenix, AZ verbally committed over the weekend.

• Steve Summers and Robby Boydstun talk about the latest Duck recruiting news.

• Dusty Ritter has a nice Q&A session with WR Will Murphy.

Will was a three-year letterman in football, basketball, and baseball for the West Albany Bulldogs. The Bulldogs went to the football state championship in his junior year and lost, but they took home the 5A state crown the next year in 2007. Murphy was also named First-Team All-State at both wide receiver and cornerback.

Will Murphy’s story is one of hard work, determination, and selflessness.

Does Dale have some inside knowledge...? Enough to announce defections? I'm guessing, no.
