Duck Stuff: Morning Mud

Morning Mud
Aaron Fentress takes a sneak peek at the Fiesta Bowl and makes an early prediction of an Oregon victory.

This matchup could have come in the national title game but this is a close second. It's a big stage for both teams to display their offensive prowess in a game that the Ducks will win by pulling away late.
Oregon 47, Kansas State 33.

Rob Moseley thinks the Fiesta Bowl might be a battle of the ages.

Charles @FishDuck.com wonders if audibles are being used by Marcus Mariota as he analyzes plays from the Civil War.

• Ted Miller has the latest Pac-12 power rankings where you'll find Oregon in the number two spot.

The Ducks will get their shot at Kansas State in the Fiesta Bowl. A win means another top-five final ranking.

• Bill Snyder  (K-State head coach)can't avoid Oregon this time.

For Snyder, running his program meant avoiding Oregon when his team's schedule was already pretty strong. The move might have been good strategy for the Wildcats, but it hurt the Ducks.

On one hand, it was a sign of respect for Oregon's prowess. But on the other hand, it was a show of disrespect because the switch left Oregon scrambling to fill that date and the Ducks ended up with an FCS school instead of a Top 25 team out of the Big 12.

Now Oregon has a chance to slap back with the nation watching.

"It's a big challenge and we're excited about it," Kelly said.

GO DUCKS!

K-State knew what was coming, and it was smart of them to avoid it the first time...too bad they're stuck with us now. It's gonna hurt!
