Duck Stuff: Morning Mud

Morning Mud
ESPN announced they will continue to televise the Rose Bowl through 2026 yesterday.

The Rose Bowl will continue to be televised by ESPN through 2026, thanks to a deal announced Thursday by the Tournament of Roses, ESPN and the commissioners of the Big Ten and Pac-12 conferences.

The Rose Bowl will be part of the postseason bowl rotation, hosting semifinal games on two occasions between 2015 and 2026. Those games, plus games when the Rose Bowl is not part of the rotation, will be played at 5 p.m. ET on Jan. 1 (Jan. 2 if New Year's Day is a Sunday).

Ted Miller believes Oregon is in "good shape" at the tight end position as he continues his Pac-12 positional reviews.

His name was David Paulson, but the Pac-12 blog's go-to postgame interview is gone, which vexes me. His name is Colt Lyerla, and he's a freakish athlete who made a number of big plays last year, converting his seven receptions to five TDs and 147 yards -- 21 yards per catch. But things are iffy thereafter, with true freshman Evan Baylis, who was on hand for spring practices, a leading candidate for the No. 2 spot.

• Josh White@ looks at a streak that just keeps on giving, beating Dawgs eight years in a row.

• David Melo opens the history book and remembers when it was fourth and long how Oregon relied on punter Josh Bidwell during the late 90's in this Q&A session.

One of the greatest punters in Oregon football history, known for doing the spectacular booming kicks deep and pinning opponents inside the 10, made a big difference in his time at Oregon helping lead the Ducks to the success of the late 90s...
