• Rob Moseley reports that Oregon's BCS contention in 2012 corresponded with solid academic performance.

• Oregon picks up another verbal commitment. Three star, 6'3" WR Darren Carrington out of San Diego, CA.

• Another Heisman contender list, this time for the Pac-12. Oregon places three in the top 25, De'Anthony Thomas at #3, Kenjon Barner at #7 and Michael Clay at #22.

• Kevin Gemmell looks at the Pac-12's recent history vs. the Top 25. Oregon sits at number one with a 12-5 (.705) record.

• Looks like a new BCS playoff system is getting closer to reality.

The BCS commissioners and Notre Dame's athletic director on Wednesday endorsed a seeded four-team playoff model for college football beginning in the 2014 season.

The commissioners' consensus still must be approved by the BCS presidential oversight committee, which meets June 26 in Washington D.C. If approved, the four-team playoff would replace the BCS system, which has been in place since 1998.
