Duck Stuff: Morning Mud

Morning Mud
Rob Moseley has a collection of links concerning Duck football and one of them is a Athlon Sport's article about the likely Oregon-USC matchup (s) in 2012.

Athlon Sports took the plunge in trying to answer perhaps "the" question about the upcoming Pac-12 season, and their conclusion doesn't bode well for Oregon. You'd be hard-pressed to find an analyst who doesn't believe the Ducks and USC will meet both in the regular season and in the conference title game in 2012, and Athlon isn't bucking that trend. But unfortunately for the UO faithful (if you put any weight in this prediction) the annual preview magazine picks the Trojans to win both games, the only losses in an 11-2 projected season for Oregon.

Ted Miller breaks down the cost of recruiting in the Pac-12 as compiled ESPN and you will find Oregon at the top of the list.

Mark Flores has all the latest recruiting news in his weekly update.

ESPN analyst Brock Huard projects Oregon's title chances.

The winner of Oregon's visit to USC on Nov. 3 will likely get to host the conference title game (the division winner with the better record will play at home), so a loss in the regular-season meeting is that much more damaging to the Ducks' title hopes. Beating a team that could be the preseason No. 1 one time will be hard enough, but twice could be too much to ask of any program.

Aaron Fentress says the Oregon baseball team is built for continued success in 2013.

The bar has been raised for Oregon baseball.

A new approach that stressed execution and accountability led the Ducks to finish third in the conference, earn a national No. 5-seed in the NCAA baseball playoffs and come within one win of reaching the College World Series.

Based on the glut of returning talent, the Ducks should have another good shot at reaching that goal next season.
