Duck Stuff: Morning Mud

Morning Mud
• Oregon closer Jimmie Sherfy has been named one of five finalists for the Stopper of the Year Award. (courtesy of GoDuck.com)

Sherfy has helped Oregon advance to Super Regionals this season and earned Louisville Slugger third team All-America honors, while also being voted to the Pac-12 All-Conference Team. In 58 and 1/3 innings of work, he is 5-2 and owns a 2.16 ERA with 18 saves (fourth nation) and 87 strikeouts.  Opponents are hitting .176 off the native of Camarillo, Calif., while he is averaging 13.4 strikeouts per nine innings.

• Mark Flores @FishDuck.com keeps us up to the minute with all the latest Oregon recruiting news.

• Aaron Fentress gives us a first look at Oregon's opponent in the Super Regional, Kent St.

Oregon’s baseball team could not ask for a better situation.

Kent State (44-17, Ohio), out of the Mid-American Conference, is the only obstacle standing between Oregon and a trip to Omaha, Neb.

Underdog? Maybe. But the Golden Flashes will ride into Eugene propelled by three wins over two very good teams and will be playing with house money.

But clearly, this is the Ducks super regional to lose.

GO DUCKS!
