Duck Stuff: Morning Mud

Keeerrrtt1 has posted his 38th Vlog where he talks about the following Oregon athletic topics:

Oregon spring game (0:40), New national championship? (3:41), Oregon baseball (4:21) Track & Field update (5:30), Softball (6:39), Lacrosse (7:06), update (8:40), Random tweet of the week (11:40), Music Recommendation of the Week: (11:52)...

• Ronald Hill says these days the Oregon program is simply reloading, not rebuilding.

Adam Jude shares a feature story from the Sunday R-G that focuses on Kiko Alonso.

That was evident in Oregon’s Rose Bowl victory over Wisconsin, when Alonso, a backup linebacker, was named the defensive player of the game. He had five tackles, including 1 1/2 sacks, and his diving interception set up the Ducks’ go-ahead touchdown late in the third quarter.

“People on the team knew he had that in him,” Michael Clay said. “For him to showcase that on the national stage, it made him a household name. Kiko’s sense of confidence just shot up from that.”

Alonso is now penciled in as Oregon’s starting middle linebacker entering his fifth year on campus.

“He could be a dominating football player,” UO defensive coordinator Nick Aliotti said.
