Duck Stuff: Morning Mud

Sophomore linebacker Derrick Malone Jr. talks with reporters yesterday about his progress during spring practice. Video courtesy of KVAL.

Steve Maher reminds us to "read between the lines" when watching all of the spring practice videos. Sometimes, what's not said, really does say a lot. Good read.

Rob Moseley takes a deeper look at the linebacker position and how Oregon keeps filling the holes when folks graduate.

Credit Don Pellum and coordinator Nick Aliotti for developing that bounty of talent. But also, Oregon’s heavy rotation of players on defense the last few years helped not just in the short term, keeping the Ducks fresh from play to play, but in the long term as well, providing substantial experience for backups who will start in the future.

• Another day, another win as the baseball team took down #6 Stanford yesterday.

Freshman Jake Reed pitched seven shutout innings, and Ryon Healy homered as No. 16 Oregon claimed the series win with a 5-0 shutout of No. 6 Stanford at Sunken Diamond on Saturday afternoon.

I'm so stoked about this baseball team...they are such a new team, and to compete at this level...that's awesome!
