Duck Stuff: Morning Mud

Morning Mud
• Steve Maher opens the history book and looks at how things have changed in football since the later 1800's.

So when the 2012 Ducks go over some new rules this spring — kickoffs are moving from the 30 to the 35-yard line and touchbacks from the 20 to the 25-yard line — keep in mind what all the players from the past 124 years have had to endure.

The baseball team won a double header yesterday against #14 ASU. Series finale today at noon at PK Park or on Comcast Sports Northwest.

• Jeffrey Martin reports that spring practice will start on Tuesday with the usual expectations.

More than anything, the next month is about reinforcing the method.

"Did we get better as a group? Did we learn something? It all starts with our approach," Kelly said. "The guys in our program right now understand what that approach needs to be. All of the older guys teaching the younger guys exactly what your mindset is when you step on the practice field -- are you trying to get by in practice or are you trying to improve in practice?

"I think we see how the Michael Clays, the Josh Huffs, the Kenjon Barners, guys like that practice, and it really rubs off on the younger guys."
