Duck Stuff: Morning Mud

Morning Mud
The Oregon Sports Award banquet was held Sunday in Portland and the Oregon football team was one of the recipients of the George Pasero team of the year award.

In 2011 the Ducks continued an amazing run with the best three seasons in Oregon Ducks football history. The team's 12-2 finish included a thrilling Rose Bowl victory over Wisconsin, the third consecutive BCS bowl appearance for the team. The Ducks also won the inaugural PAC-12 championship game. The team's season included many other superlatives: De'Anthony Thomas collected the crystal trophy as CFPA co-kick returner of the year and was named freshman All-American; four Ducks were named all-PAC-12 first team; and offensive lineman Carson York was named an Academic All-American.

• Hosting the award ceremony mentioned above was former Oregon RB Ahmad Rashad who chatted with John Canzano (audio podcast) on that topic and many more including his former Duck playing days.

John Canzano also had former Oregon LB Spencer Paysinger on his radio show who talked about the amazing season he had in the NFL that culminated with a Super Bowl victory with the Giants.

Jon Wilner continues his excellent coverage of news and notes concerning the Pac-12 Network which broke ground yesterday in San Francisco.

• Mitch Coffman at the National Football Authority believes LaMichael James can be a game changer for the team that drafts him.

James is a guy who, if picked in a later round, will be a steal for any team looking to add a multi-dimensional player to its roster. He has the ability to make an impact immediately for any NFL squad.

GO DUCKS!
