• Ken Goe reports that De'Anthony Thomas might not run track and field during the indoor season (it's almost over) but according to track coach Vin Lannana, will most likely be a part of the team during the outdoor season which starts March 18th.

"He's high end," Lananna said. "He's pretty good. I haven't seen him run track yet, but I've seen him run in football. He can run."

• Ted Miller notes there are playoff changes being discussed but advises not to hold your breath.

In light of the recent trend of elite in-state athletes deciding to stay home in Oregon for their respective college careers, it is time to take a look back at some of the iconic Ducks from the state of Oregon. • Aaron Fentress is running a poll to see who fans think will win the QB competition come fall. Bryan Bennett has a comfortable lead, 65% to 16% over Marcus Mariota.

My hunch: There's enough talent here to lead to a fiasco that should provide a superstar starter. This is the first time in a long time - if ever - Oregon has had three or more talented quarterbacks with starting potential. My how far the program has come.
